Firearms Safety Rules

Rule 1     Treat every weapon as if it were loaded at all times.

Rule 2     Never point a weapon at anything you are not willing to destroy.

Rule 3     Keep your weapon on safe until you are ready to fire.

Rule 4     Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.

Rule 5     Knowing the capabilities of your firearm and your personal proficiency level as well as the ballistic properties of your rounds, the target and secondary impact areas, considering the environment and your surroundings, safely and legally employ the firearm accordingly.

Purpose

The purpose of these drills is to help reinforce proper shooting platform, target acquisition and trigger manipulation.

 

Things to Remember:

·        Smooth is fast…take your time to build proper Muscle Memory.

·        Keep your grip high in the backstrap, with push/pull overlap and your thumbs laying stacked.

·        Evenly extend your arms and rotate your elbows out [slightly].

·        Aim small to miss small, with a clear front sight tip properly aligned to the rear sight and centered on a hazy target.

·        Manage your trigger slack to Mechanical Reset.

The Drills
